Union Bay Garden
A series of intimate garden spaces laced throughout this hillside cottage garden punctuate the changing views across the landscape to Lake Washington. Stone paving, gravel paths, and stone stairs establish a rustic feel to the garden. These gracefully formed elements carry visitors from the house, through the lawn, and to the shores of the lake below.
The lower lawn is a soft, sloping expanse that rolls down to meet the water’s
edge. Drifts of perennials along the paths and enveloping the lawn unify the
various zones in the garden and provide a colorful backdrop that engages visitors
as they make their way up or down the hillside.
